They’re both still the same thing. My goal is now and has always been to be an astronaut! I used to also want to be a train driver, but right now driving a rocket is definitely more appealing.

When I was a kid, I changed my mind about what job I wanted a LOT- I wanted to be a vet, then a scientist, then a power plant worker, then an artist!

I’m still not sure of my career “goal”…. I just know I want to work in engineering or science for the rest of my life. I really love research so I’d like to keep doing that, especially 3D printing research.

I wanted to be lots of things when I was a kid – Egyptologist, scientist, astronaut, explorer, animator, photographer, Royal Institution presenter!

Royal Institution presenter is still definitely a goal! At the moment my goal is to get my PhD but I’m not sure after that – I still want to work in engineering on things that help people but there are so many options. Hopefully I’ll be more sure by the time I graduate!

When I got interested in engineering around age 12 I wanted to design sailing boats… but that’s a bit niche… now I hope to be given responsibility for bigger and more ambitious projects and a more key role in my company. Moreover when I get to retire I would like to be able to look back and be proud of what I did in my working life
