• Question: What inspired you to become an engineer?

      Hey SMARTIES! (nice name)

      Well in my chemistry degree, I did a project where I made materials for smart windows (windows that can change colour automatically- like these: http://tinyurl.com/ozggujw). I made them out of chemicals from wood and crab shells, and tested how good they were. That project was half chemistry, half engineering, and I really enjoyed it.

      Also, my dad was an electronics engineer before he retired. He made technologies for planes. After one big project, he and his coworkers were sent crystal cups from the Queen! His work always sounded really cool.

      It all started with sailing and wanting to understand how it worked, reading a bit and discovering fluid dynamics and then finding out what to study first to get to study fluid dynamics and then finding jobs where I could use what I learnt.

      My physics and chemistry teachers from high school did, they were amazing! My physics teachers were like a comedy double-act and my chemistry teacher looked exactly like Einstein!! They were really inspiring and made learning a lot of fun ?

      The application of biomedical imaging research in developing clinical software (which assist clinicians and doctors in identifying the disease) motivated me since I was grateful that I could save someone or make their life better
