I use an optical coherence tomography kit for most of my experiments – it’s the same as the thing they will scan your eyes with if you have to go to the opticians. I also use a microscope, and laptop with lots of confusing code on it. To keep cells alive there is a lot of equipment involved – they have to be fed, kept at the right temperature, and looked after under sterile conditions so we don’t damage them. I’m still working on my pipetting skills!
